“We, Caitanyaites/Gauḍīyas are not followers of a person, but his ideology and praxis. If ideology and praxis are against the Six Gosvāmīs and the convention of Sanātana-dharma, whosoever he is, cannot be appreciated. Cladding in an attire of a ‘gopī‘ ( cowherd milkmaid of Vraja) while in a male’s body – is not the convention set up by Six Gosvāmīs or by any bona fide

camp of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava Sampradāya or even by other genuine Vaiṣnava lineages.

Note – “The term ‘sahajīya‘ (a cheap imitator of spirituality), if applied in the context of sakhī-bhekīs (males attiring themselves in a female dress of a cowherd milkmaid), denotes their very conception of considering their sādhaka-deha as equal to either the siddha-deha or the pārṣada-deha – which is technically improper. Since, they are cheapening the value of the siddha-deha and the pārṣada-deha by identifying it with the sādhaka-deha, they are called ‘cheap imitators’ or ‘prākṛta-sahjīyās’.

Doubt –

In Caitanya-bhāgavata, Caitanya Mahāprabhu is dressed as Rukmiṇī and did womanly makeup. So, is Mahāprabhu, also, a sahajīyā?

Answer –

Śrī Caitanyadeva is the embodiment of both Rādhā and Nandanandana Kṛṣṇa. Rukmiṇī is the ‘aṁśa‘ of Rādhā. Hence, Caitanyadeva had every right to display His Rukmini form. Furthermore, the divine form of Caitanyadeva does not have the distinction which us mortals have. His visible body is His ātmā. Whereas, the ‘sādhaka-deha‘ is different from the ‘siddha-deha‘ and the ‘pārṣada-deha’. Śrī Viśvanātha Cakravarttī clearly forbids the ‘anukaraṇa‘ or imitation of the ‘parṣada-deha‘ and

‘siddha-deha’ within the sādhaka-deha/taṭastha-deha while commenting on Bhaktirasāmṛtasindhu 1.2.306.”
